I'm Bhumika,
People call me Bhumu for short
I'm an IT engineer by vocation and a UX designer by interest. I have more than 3+ years of industrial experience in multiple disciplines. My professional history encompasses participation in the full life cycle of software development projects used in the manufacturing industry, rich experience in business operations such as Automate or digitising ongoing and new processes, Software Engineering, Quality Assurance, Configuration Management and Testing for various systems and projects I have participated in developing. Currently, based in MP worked as a Functional Support Analyst for about 3+ years with experience in delivering end-to-end business-related operations and also have been doing photography for a little over 4 years.

When I started with flyers, posters, and custom logo design and eventually got into UX design, I immediately knew that was what I wanted to do. I have been thinking like a designer for most of my life. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam University, Indore. When I was a student, I learned programming languages (C, C++, JAVA core & advanced alongside Bigdata, HTML, and CSS) and further joined a software company as an intern/researcher and helped the team develop products. This project was based on CRM which helped me better understand a product and then deliver it to users end-to-end, but soon I realized coding is not for me.
The reason why I studied CS in the first place was because of technology's ability to solve problems and help people; the design is what provides the empathy and creativity that technology needs to do so. Since then, I've been on a self-motivated journey where I've expanded my design skills and thinking through demo projects. As a newbie to UX design, I was convinced I would end up as a software engineer, but I did a lot of art/design on the side, having loved all things creative since childhood.

Why UX?
My Hunger For Growth Drives Me To Design And Deliver Experience.
I have always been passionate about design but I wanted to reach farther than design. I’ve always had a liking for learning and trying new things, and that’s what led me to love & find UX design was the perfect match for me. So, I researched more about UX/UI & completed the Google certification in UX Design and at first, became involved in user experience and user interface design. Due to my previous profession, I have been involved in the user experience and testing for a myriad of applications, products and large-scale systems, always keeping a mindful eye on usability.
First and foremost, in my work, I think about the user, or, better said, the person who will be handling the product, whether it's an existing or new requirement. It has become something of a hobby for me as I find myself evaluating the user experience of apps and websites that I encounter in my day-to-day world. If I encounter something egregious, I coordinate with the user or developer with feedback that will hopefully help them improve their app or site. Sometimes they welcome my feedback and make improvements, sometimes they don't.
What I've been working on
As my personal UX project, based on the design thinking framework, I completed an e-commerce project which helped in positive online shopping experiences and finding the perfect customized outfit. As a Business Analyst, my direct communication with customers helps me improve our products and refine our walking routes to fit the customers’ needs, as well as design products for B2B and B2C customers.

Back in 2021, one of my best friends started her own business with an associate. She needed a website/app to showcase her services and to find clients. Without a second thought, I completed the Google certification in UX Design and refined my design skills to build her the perfect application.
Later, this led me to focus on creating useful, usable and engaging digital experiences for the web and beyond. I love to find creative interaction patterns to create delightful and usable products.
I always start a project by gaining insights from end users. Sketching is for me the best way to quickly design efficient navigation principles and accessible interfaces. Prototypes and user testing make it easy to ensure that the interface is usable and meets user needs. I have a profound interest in interaction and visual design as well as problem-solving.
What I'm curious about
As a passionate and motivated professional, I’m constantly striving to improve my techniques, expand my skillset and find new opportunities to grow. I’ve focused on channelling my talent and creativity into meaningful and powerful results. I take pride in the work I do, as well as the strong relationships I’ve built with clients and colleagues. I firmly believe in working hard, working together and having fun along the way & all this creative freedom comes with UX design, and it often feels like I’m telling a story.
